Call Requirements:\n-1 Week of On-Call that is scheduled approximately every 5th or 6th week\n-One Hospital Holiday each year (rotates year to year)\n-Can switch on-call and holiday with other Echo Techs with supervisor approval\nUnder the direction of a physician, performs a variety of cardiac ultrasound procedures that require independent judgement, ingenuity, and initiative in the creation of technically diagnostic exams for interpretation by a cardiologist, or radiologist. \nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nSupports and promotes the mission and values of Covenant Health Ministry.\nProvides technically diagnostic quality exams for physician interpretation in a timely manner.\nAssists cardiologists or appropriate physician during invasive ultrasound procedures\nMaintains current NH State License and appropriate credentials.\nPerforms quality ultrasound exams on patients in assigned area.\nImplements clinical protocols and policies.\nReviews order requisition for pertinent information, special requests and correct procedures as ordered.\nReviews physician order for procedure/test.\nAssists patient reception staff with patient information as needed.\nPerforms completion of documentation on patient exams and completes all required processes to assure appropriate exam charges.\nMaintains medical supplies and required stock items in all rooms. Prepares and cleans patient exam rooms.\nPrepares all equipment necessary to perform patient exam appropriately.\nOther duties as consistent with this role.\nJob Requirements: (education and experience/preferred and required)\nJob Knowledge and Skills\nCommunicates effectively and professionally with patients, visitors, and families, as well as staff and physicians.\nEducation and Experience\nDegree or certificate from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education accredited sonography program required\nCertification in cardiac ultrasound by the ARDMS or CCI within 12 months of graduation.\nBasic Life Support required\nAn equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements.\nWorking Conditions/Physical Demands\nMust possess the physical and mental abilities to perform the tasks normally associated with this position that involves a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching. Lifting/carrying frequently up to 35 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
