The Clean Room Assembler performs a variety of production tasks, from repetitive to non-repetitive work, to assemble component parts into sub-assemblies and finished units while following established standard operating procedures. This role operates in a controlled cleanroom environment, uses microscopes and other equipment as needed, and conducts in-process quality inspections to ensure all products meet defined quality specifications. The position follows clearly defined guidelines and works under close supervision, with all work reviewed for accuracy and any deviations approved before proceeding.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble component parts into assemblies, sub-assemblies, or completed units by following standard operating procedures and documented work instructions.
  • Perform both repetitive and non-repetitive production tasks while maintaining accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail.
  • Work in a cleanroom environment and follow all cleanroom protocols to maintain product and environmental integrity.
  • Use microscopes and other inspection tools to assemble and inspect small or detailed components as required.
  • Conduct quality inspections on the processing line in accordance with established quality specifications and guidelines.
  • Identify any deviations from standard processes and seek approval from a supervisor before proceeding.
  • Adhere strictly to all quality guidelines, standard operating procedures, and applicable scientific methods.
  • Maintain required licenses, training, and certifications and apply learned skills and techniques to complete routine tasks.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of assignments.
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area in compliance with facility and regulatory standards.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in assembly or warehouse environments, demonstrating familiarity with production workflows and material handling.
  • Ability to apply basic skills and techniques to complete routine tasks within the assigned area.
  • Comfort working in a cleanroom environment and following strict cleanliness and contamination control procedures.
  • Ability to work with microscopes or other magnification tools to assemble and inspect small components.
  • Strong adherence to standard operating procedures, quality guidelines, and documented processes.
  • Capability to work on basic and routine assignments under close supervision, with openness to feedback and guidance.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in both assembly and inspection tasks.
  • Willingness to maintain required licenses, training, and certifications relevant to the role.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a controlled production or cleanroom environment is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with basic scientific or technical methods used in manufacturing or inspection processes.
  • Ability to follow clearly defined instructions and escalate any deviations to a supervisor.
  • Strong reliability and consistency in attendance and task completion.
  • Willingness to learn new procedures and adapt to updated quality or process requirements.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Chicopee, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.65 - $19.40/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
