Location:
Brattleboro, Vermont

Coverage Dates:
Starting December 2026, with no current limit for the right candidate.

Schedule:
Shifts are from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM; in-person presence is required in the unit/hospital during these hours.

Call Coverage:
None required.

Reason for Coverage:
To address a daytime staffing need for hospitalist advanced practice providers (APP).

Practice Setting:
Inpatient/Hospital-Based

Patient Population:
Exclusively adult inpatient and observation cases.

Inpatient vs Outpatient:
100% focused on in-hospital admissions.

Average Patient Load:
Managing 8-10 patients daily.

Required Duties and Skills:
- Responding to codes and rapid responses.
- Experience in ventilator management is preferred.
- Capable of managing step-down level patients.

Patient Acuity:
Providing care at the observation/inpatient floor level and intermediate care; must be able to stabilize critically ill patients and coordinate transport to tertiary care facilities.

EMR/Documentation:
Utilizing Cerner Community Works with AI scribe support.

Additional Information:
This is a small community hospital with a friendly and supportive nursing staff. There is a collegial relationship with the emergency department team and surgeons, along with a robust case management team to facilitate the discharge process for medical patients. A strong overnight hospitalist MD team is also in place.
