Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students by working as a Special Education Teacher in a supportive, inclusive environment near North Adams, MA. This full-time contract role focuses on serving K-1st and 3rd-5th grade students in Substantially Separate Classrooms. You’ll educate and nurture students with significant cognitive and physical disabilities, including those who may be non-verbal or on the autism spectrum. Some students benefit from dedicated RBT support. Expertise in specially designed instruction and applied behavior analysis is especially valued in this setting.

Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Experience with students facing significant disabilities (cognitive and/or physical)
- Background providing toileting, feeding, and mobility support
- Confidence adapting curriculum for diverse learning needs
- Strong preference for experience in applied behavior analysis (ABA) and specially designed instruction
- Familiarity supporting non-verbal students and those on the spectrum
- Collaborative mindset to work with RBTs and other educators
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction in a supportive classroom setting
- Provide physical and communication assistance as needed
- Collaborate with related service providers, support staff, and families
- Maintain documentation and track progress, ensuring compliance with all guidelines
- Foster a caring and respectful classroom culture
