Senior Trainer | NEADS Service Dogs 🐾

Princeton, MA | On-Site | Full-Time | $25.00/hour+

\n

NEADS Service Dogs is looking for an experienced Senior Trainer to join our mission-driven training team. This is an opportunity to combine advanced canine training expertise with meaningful work that directly impacts people with disabilities, veterans, children, and professionals in community settings.

What You’ll Do

\n

    \n
  • Train service dogs in obedience, task work, and public-access skills.
  • \n

  • Evaluate dogs and prepare them for successful placement.
  • \n

  • Independently recommend dog/client matches based on individual needs.
  • \n

  • Teach clients how to work with and care for their service dogs.
  • \n

  • Provide ongoing support following placement.
  • \n

  • Lead training classes through our Prison PUP Program, working with incarcerated individuals and correctional staff.
  • \n

  • Support dog evaluations, public demonstrations, outreach, and educational programs.
  • \n

  • Ensure the highest standards of canine health, safety, welfare, and training.
  • \n

What We’re Looking For

\n

    \n
  • 6+ years of professional service dog training experience, preferably with an ADI-accredited organization.
  • \n

  • Skills equivalent to ADI Level 4 Instructor Competencies.
  • \n

  • Strong knowledge of canine behavior, positive reinforcement, and task-based service dog training.
  • \n

  • Experience independently training, evaluating, matching, and placing assistance dogs.
  • \n

  • Excellent communication, teaching, observation, and decision-making skills.
  • \n

  • Comfort working in a correctional environment and maintaining professional boundaries.
  • \n

  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
  • \n

  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally.
  • \n

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a physically active environment.
  • \n
