Position Overview\n

Operate CT equipment, including CT scanner, Power Injector, Laser Printer, and Patient Monitoring devices, to acquire diagnostic images for physicians. This role requires floating among radiology clinics and divisions as needed.

Key Responsibilities\n

    \n
  • Operate CT equipment to obtain diagnostic images according to departmental protocol. Ensure proper patient preparation, positioning, immobilization, and use of protective shielding.
  • \n

  • Explain exams to patients while considering their physical and emotional needs. Maintain ethical standards, such as patient confidentiality and professional conduct.
  • \n

  • Maintain effective working relations and communication with departmental and hospital personnel.
  • \n

  • Calibrate and verify the operation of all equipment and notify personnel of any malfunctions.
  • \n

  • Execute necessary paperwork and Radiology Information System functions for each patient exam.
  • \n

  • Perform venipuncture for contrast administration under radiologist direction, adhering to all policies and procedures.
  • \n

  • Attend staff meetings and in-services, maintaining CEUs according to Massachusetts State Licensure and ARRT requirements.
  • \n

  • Oversee and instruct various personnel and technology students within the department.
  • \n

  • Prepare equipment, room, and supplies for each patient and regular daily use, and stock the supply room as needed.
  • \n

  • Participate in research programs, quality assurance, and quality improvement projects.
  • \n

  • Transport and transfer patients following departmental guidelines.
  • \n

  • Use independent judgment and initiative under pressure in various situations.
  • \n

  • Perform all other duties as directed.
  • \n

Qualifications\n

    \n
  • Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology.
  • \n

  • Possession of a current Massachusetts State Radiologic Technologist license.
  • \n

  • Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent.
  • \n

  • Certification or eligibility for certification in CT by the ARRT or equivalent is required, with certification and registration to be maintained within one year.
  • \n

  • 2-3 years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred, with at least one year in cross-sectional anatomy courses.
  • \n

  • Sufficient interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients under physical or emotional stress.
  • \n

  • Analytical abilities necessary to effectively utilize knowledge of imaging processes, techniques, procedures, and cross-sectional anatomy.
  • \n

Special Requirements\n

    \n
  • Level 1 trauma experience is required.
  • \n

  • Siemens experience is required.
  • \n
