Location, Schedule, and Pay
- Location: Newington, NH (100% onsite)
- Shifts: 2nd Shift (3:30 PM – Midnight) or 3rd Shift (Midnight – 7AM)
- Pay Range: $35.00–$40.00/hour (based on qualifications)
A Day in the Life
You arrive on your shift and review the day’s router and drawings. You coordinate with engineers, CNC programmers, and fellow union machinists to confirm setup strategy and quality checkpoints. You prep tooling, dial in workholding, verify offsets, and run first-article inspections. Throughout the shift, you maintain tight tolerances, adjust feeds and speeds, make limited program edits when qualified, and document quality checks. You finish with 5S and housekeeping to keep the shop safe, clean, and efficient.
What You’ll Tackle
- Manufacture precision components that meet rigorous nuclear quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Operate a range of metal‑removing and metal‑forming machines in a modern manufacturing environment.
- Set up machines, components, and castings to close tolerances from engineering drawings and print specifications.
- Read and interpret drawings, sketches, and blueprints—and follow written or verbal instructions—in compliance with PP-09-01.
- Select and use precision instruments, hand tools, fixtures, jigs, and tooling; fabricate tooling when needed.
- Perform in‑process inspections and verify all dimensional and quality requirements.
- Troubleshoot operations and make limited CNC program modifications when qualified.
- Maintain an orderly work area using 5S, housekeeping standards, safety rules, and criticality procedures.
What You Bring
- High school diploma or recognized equivalent.
- 3–5 years of machinist experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Proven CNC machining proficiency, including G‑code familiarity and machine operations.
- 3+ years working with tooling, fixtures, machine setup, and process optimization for quality parts.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Hands‑on experience with precision measurement tools and inspection techniques.
- Working knowledge of 5S and lean manufacturing practices.
