Full Time Live In Nanny with Travel Opportunities
Job Description
Job DescriptionA busy family in Boston’s Seaport is seeking a professional and confident Live-in, long-term, full-time nanny to care for their one-year-old son. The family hopes to grow in the future, so candidates should be comfortable caring for multiple children. This is a wonderful opportunity for an experienced caregiver that is excited about providing top quality care and safety for the child while acting as the proxy parent when both parents need to travel. They would love a candidate who will stay with their family for many years!
Requirements
- At least 21 years old
- Non-smoker
- CPR / First Aid certified
- TDap & Flu vaccines are required; Covid vaccine is optional
- 3+ years of relevant childcare experience including infant experience
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record is required
- Valid passport and the ability to travel both domestically as well as internationally
- Prior Live-In experience
- Experience with families of different cultures; Asian cultures strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Development and play: plans creative, age-appropriate activities such as sensory play and supports the baby's developmental milestones.
- Household support: helps with laundry, loads and unloads the dishwasher, sanitizes baby items and keeps the units clean and organized. A housekeeper does a deep clean once a week, and the family always keeps their space tidy.
- Packing and logistics: helps pack for trips and keeps things running smoothly for a family that is always on the go.
- Daycare days: the baby attends daycare three days a week. The nanny uses this time for tasks that are hard to do with the baby at home. Once the day's tasks are done, the rest is personal time.
- Travel: the nanny travels with the family internationally and domestically, sometimes for extended periods (days or months at a time).
About the Family
This is a very busy, high net worth family that travels frequently and will require both flexibility and discretion from their nanny. The household is fully staffed, and grandparents come and go so candidates should be comfortable with this.
The nanny will live in a separate apartment next to the family’s unit, with a private bedroom and bathroom and waterfront views. The family uses the apartment’s common spaces for the baby. The building has full concierge service, plus a private lounge with free coffee, tea and other drinks, and an in-building gym with reformer Pilates.
Ideal Candidate
The family is looking for someone who is someone who puts safety first at all times. Candidates should be knowledgeable about child growth and development, be professional, discreet, and personable, and a naturally clean and organized person. Candidates must be confident caring for the baby fully on their own and to also be able to read the room - when to step in and when to step back. Candidates must show evidence of longevity in past positions. Extensive travel is a requirement for this position; so, a valid passport and comfort flying is required. Signing an NDA will also be required. Flexibility with scheduled hours is necessary for this position due to the nature of the job.
