This contract-to-hire position offers an opportunity for an experienced site laborer to support large commercial site development projects across the South Shore and southern Massachusetts. You will perform a variety of construction labor tasks on busy job sites, assist site crews with daily operations, and help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform general site work on large commercial construction job sites, including excavation support, grading assistance, material handling, and site preparation activities.
- Load, unload, move, and organize construction materials, tools, and equipment as directed by site supervisors and foremen.
- Assist with trenching, backfilling, site cleanup, and other labor-intensive tasks required for site development projects.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely and effectively to support daily site operations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by removing debris and keeping work areas free of hazards.
- Follow all OSHA, site-specific, and company safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to OSHA 10 guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with site supervisors, foremen, equipment operators, and other crew members to support productivity and project goals.
- Assist equipment operators and skilled trades personnel as needed to support ongoing construction activities.
- Travel to various job sites across the South Shore and southern Massachusetts using reliable transportation and arrive on time for scheduled shifts.
- Adapt to changing site conditions, priorities, and responsibilities while maintaining a strong focus on quality, safety, and teamwork.
Essential Skills
- At least 2-3 years of construction labor or site work experience, preferably in commercial site development.
- Experience performing general labor tasks on construction sites, including material handling, site cleanup, trench support, and site preparation.
- Current OSHA 10 certification.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and basic construction equipment in a field environment.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, carrying, bending, kneeling, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work productively in a fast-paced, large commercial job site environment.
- Reliable transportation to travel to job sites across the South Shore and southern Massachusetts.
- Strong awareness of safety practices and commitment to following safety protocols at all times.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a construction crew with strong communication and teamwork skills.

- Flexibility to work in a contract-to-hire arrangement and transition to a longer-term role based on performance.
- Comfort working on large commercial construction projects with multiple trades and contractors on site.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of East Weymouth, MA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $35.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
