This full-time opportunity runs from September 2026 through June 2027, with a schedule of 35-37.5 hours per week. As a contract special education teacher, you will harness your expertise to support learners across a network of diverse educational environments in the Newport, NH area.
In this unique position, you will travel among public, private, and charter schools, collaborating with various teams and adapting your approach to meet each student’s individualized needs. Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid special education teaching certification (or eligibility for certification)
- Prior experience as a special education teacher, preferably at multiple grade levels
- Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation
- Effective communication and organizational skills
- Willingness to travel between schools throughout the district area
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction and support to students with disabilities across multiple school locations
- Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and families to ensure students’ needs are met
- Assess student progress and adjust instructional methods accordingly
- Provide guidance on accommodations, modifications, and best practices
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for compliance
