Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse

\n Shift: 11:15 p.m. – 7:15 a.m.
\n Pay Rate
\n Local: $80/hour
\n Travel: $3,907/week gross
\n Position Overview
\n Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking an experienced Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care within a correctional unit at a state hospital. This role requires flexibility, strong clinical judgment, and the ability to float to other units as needed. The RN will be responsible for applying the nursing process, coordinating patient care, and ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
\n Key Responsibilities
\n Perform comprehensive physical, psychosocial, and spiritual patient assessments
\n Develop and implement individualized plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team
\n Administer medications, monitor patient responses, and document care accurately
\n Continuously evaluate patient status and adjust care plans as needed
\n Educate patients and families to promote positive health outcomes
\n Supervise and delegate tasks to LPNs and Nursing Assistants
\n Participate in performance improvement and risk management activities
\n Maintain professional growth through continuing education and best practices
\n Ensure patient safety, infection control, and compliance with hospital policies
\n Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and provide age-appropriate care
\n Qualifications
\n Current, valid Massachusetts RN license
\n Minimum of 2 years of hospital experience
\n Ventilator and tracheostomy experience required
\n Telemetry and IV experience required
\n Strong critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills
