Carl F. Riedell & Son is hiring an experienced HVAC Lead Installer to join our growing team in Osterville, MA.
This is a hands-on leadership position for an HVAC professional who can lead installations, work alongside a helper, and take ownership of each job from start to finish. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship and is willing to teach and develop less-experienced installers.
Responsibilities
- Lead residential and light commercial HVAC installations
- Install heat pumps, ductless systems, furnaces, air handlers, and related equipment
- Work alongside installation helpers and provide hands-on training and guidance
- Teach and share HVAC installation knowledge with team members
- Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications
- Perform system start-ups, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting
- Ensure installations meet applicable codes and manufacturer specifications
- Communicate with customers, foremen, and other Riedell team members
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized jobsites and vehicles
- Identify potential issues and communicate them to the appropriate team members
- Take responsibility for the quality and completion of each installation
Qualifications
- 3+ years of HVAC installation experience
- Strong residential HVAC installation experience
- Experience with heat pumps, ductless systems, furnaces, and air handlers
- Knowledge of HVAC installation practices, codes, and manufacturer requirements
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, blueprints, and equipment specifications
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to train and mentor less-experienced installers
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid Massachusetts driver's license and clean driving record
- EPA certification preferred
- Dependable, organized, and detail-oriented
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and work in attics, crawlspaces, basements, and varying weather conditions
Compensation & Benefits
