Job Title: Sr. IT Project Manager Location-Type: Hybrid, 3 days onsite, Boston, MA Start Date: ASAP Duration: Contract, 12 months Compensation Range: $90-97/hr W2 Benefits: Eligible for Health, Dental, Vision, and 401K Visa Sponsorship: Not eligible for visa sponsorship Job Description: The client is seeking a seasoned Sr. IT Project Manager to lead multiple large-scale, complex enterprise technology initiatives from planning through post-go-live stabilization, delivering measurable value across technical and business teams. Job Summary Lead planning, execution, and delivery of multiple large, complex IT projects across departments, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and strategies. Own the full project plan including scope, timelines, milestones, budgets, resources, risks, dependencies, and deliverables for enterprise technology initiatives such as ERP, CRM, infrastructure, cloud, and data integrations. Serve as the primary liaison between IT/technical teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and executive leadership, facilitating communication and alignment across all levels. Identify project risks and issues early, develop and implement proactive mitigation strategies, and provide regular status reporting to executives and governance groups. Lead organizational change management and business readiness efforts for technology implementations, driving user adoption and post-go-live stabilization. Manage project budgets, resource allocation, and vendor involvement while identifying cost-saving opportunities and ensuring financial accountability. Document lessons learned and ensure thorough project closeout upon completion. Minimum Requirements: 8-10 years of progressive IT project management experience, including managing large, complex, cross-functional IT initiatives in matrixed organizations. Demonstrated experience delivering enterprise-level technology projects such as ERP, CRM, infrastructure, cloud, or data integration systems. Minimum 5 years of experience engaging with business units, technical teams, and executive stakeholders to translate business needs into actionable project plans. Proven ability to lead and influence diverse cross-functional project teams without direct authority in a matrixed environment. Strong experience owning project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, risks, and dependencies across large-scale programs. Demonstrated experience leading organizational change management for enterprise technology implementations, including business readiness, user adoption, and post-go-live stabilization. Expert knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid project management methodologies, with hands-on proficiency in tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, ServiceNow, or Jira. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field. Preferred Qualifications: PMP, Agile, or PRINCE2 certification or training. Experience working within a university or higher-education environment. Experience managing projects involving external vendors or consulting partners. Demonstrated use of data and metrics to drive project planning, decision-making, and risk management. Strong systems-thinking background with the ability to connect technology, people, processes, and business operations. Experience identifying cost-saving opportunities within large IT programs. Solid understanding of current and emerging technologies and their application to digital transformation initiatives.
