Job Location: 31 Mohegan Ave Pkwy, New London, Connecticut

Duration: June 2026 to October 2028 (approx)

Housing Allowance: $2688/month

About the role: We are seeking an on-site Construction Inspector for a steam distribution system overhaul at the U.S. Coast Guard, New London, CT. This on-site role involves daily site surveillance, documentation of progress, review of contractor submittals, and communication with Government's COR to ensure compliance with federal construction standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily inspections of construction activities to ensure adherence to project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements
  • Document site progress through reports, photographs, and review/comment of contractor submittals
  • Identify and report compliance issues promptly to the Government COR and project team
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders, contractors, and Government representatives to support project goals
  • Utilize project management and document control tools such as Procore or Microsoft Project for tracking and communication
  • Maintain detailed records of inspections, testing activities, and quality assurance documentation
  • Ensure all work aligns with federal construction regulations, contract requirements, and approved plans/specifications

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years on federal government construction projects within the last 10 years
  • Minimum 2 years in steam distribution systems, civil/site work, or mechanical/utilities installation
  • Demonstrated knowledge across multiple construction trades (structural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, civil, etc.) and underground utilities
  • At least 1 relevant project example involving steam systems, civil/site work, or utilities/mechanical room work

Preferred qualifications:

  • QA/QC certifications
