Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Massachusetts Special Education Teaching Certification (required)
- Background in special education, with experience working with elementary-aged students preferred
- Strong collaboration skills for partnering with general educators, specialists, and families
- Ability to create, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Commitment to providing a supportive, inclusive environment for diverse learners
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction to a combined 2nd and 3rd grade special education classroom
- Modify curriculum and use differentiated strategies to accommodate individual student needs
- Conduct assessments and progress monitoring for ongoing IEP development
- Collaborate with support staff and communicate regularly with caregivers
- Maintain thorough records to ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Promote a positive classroom culture that encourages student engagement and confidence
