Minimum 1+ years Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) experience and CNA certificate required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time, interim opportunity is available for a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide specialized care in a supportive school environment. This role is focused on working closely with 5th-grade students who have complex medical needs, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the school day and during transportation. The position is available for immediate start and will continue until an out-of-district placement is determined.
Schedule/Hours:
- Full-time hours
- Includes assigned bus riding duties
Responsibilities:
- Deliver attentive, compassionate care to 5th-grade students with significant medical needs, maintaining a 2:1 student-to-staff ratio
- Accompany students on school buses, providing supervision and support during journeys to and from school
- Assist with daily living activities and health needs as directed by school medical personnel
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and report any changes in students’ conditions
- Collaborate with educational staff and families to support individualized care plans
- Uphold privacy and confidentiality protocols at all times
Qualifications:
- Current, active CNA/CNA license required
- Demonstrated experience supporting children with complex medical needs, ideally at the elementary grade level
- Skilled in providing one-on-one and small group care in a school or pediatric environment
- Comfortable and reliable with bus supervision responsibilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Reliability, professionalism, and a student-centered approach
