Exciting opportunity for a dedicated Special Education teacher to make a meaningful impact through virtual instruction. This short-term contract position involves working with a 5th-grade student, providing specially designed instruction through an online platform. The assignment will last until the completion of an out-of-district placement, with current projections ranging from a few weeks up to one month. Your expertise will help support this student’s academic and developmental needs during a pivotal transition.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience delivering individualized instruction, preferably in virtual or remote settings
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with parents, staff, and service providers
- Ability to adapt instructional approaches to meet the unique needs of learners
- Organizational skills to manage both direct service and indirect support time
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide two hours per week of direct, virtual special education instruction for one-on-one support
- Allocate additional indirect time as appropriate to support student needs and documentation
- Collaborate with families, the school, and related service staff to ensure continuity and quality of services
- Track and report student progress to contribute to ongoing planning for the student’s educational placement
- Maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality of all student information
- Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling sessions to align with the student’s availability and other therapeutic services
