Role Description The Design Engineer will work on a contract basis in a remote setting, contributing to the design and development of immersive Holodeck environments and related systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating and refining product concepts, producing technical drawings and 3D models, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical, electrical, and experiential design requirements. The role involves iterating on prototypes, performing design reviews, and ensuring that solutions are both technically feasible and aligned with the intended user experience. The Design Engineer will document design decisions, support virtual collaboration sessions, and work with project managers to meet milestones and quality standards. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, clear communication, and the ability to work independently while contributing to a distributed team.

- Candidates should possess skills in Design Engineering and Product Design for multidisciplinary, user-centric solutions.
- Candidates should possess skills in Mechanical Engineering and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) for detailed component modeling and system integration.
- Candidates should possess skills in Electrical Engineering for basic circuitry, sensor integration, and system connectivity within experiential environments.
- Experience with prototyping tools, simulation software, or XR-related design platforms (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine) is beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Product Design, or a related technical field is preferred.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in remote teams, communicate design concepts clearly, and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Familiarity with human-centered design, safety standards, and iterative development processes is a plus.
