Key Responsibilities
- Equipment Operation: Run heat-treating furnaces, vacuum equipment, and quenching tanks for processes like annealing, hardening, and tempering.
- Loading and Unloading: Safely place and remove parts or containers using tongs, hoists, cranes, or forklifts.
- Process Monitoring: Watch gauges, time cycles, and temperature controls to match technical specifications and work orders.
- Quality Inspection: Test treated parts for hardness using specialized tools or visual checks.
- Maintenance & Safety: Follow strict safety rules (PPE), clean parts, and perform basic equipment upkeep.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED.
- Physical Strength: Ability to stand for long shifts and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Skills: Basic math, attention to detail, and mechanical aptitude.
- Environment: Comfortable working in a hot, loud industrial or machine shop setting.
