Job DescriptionProduce Manager – Full TimeMcKinnon's Market & Super Butcher Shop – Danvers, MAMcKinnon's Market & Super Butcher Shop is seeking an experienced, hands-on Produce Manager to lead our Danvers produce department.Teamwork is at the heart of McKinnon's. This position is accountable for the department's team, products, presentation, financial performance and daily operations.Key ResponsibilitiesLead, motivate and hold Produce Department associates accountableRecruit, hire, train, develop and evaluate department associates in partnership with store leadershipAddress performance concerns and participate in disciplinary and termination decisions when necessaryCreate a positive, productive environment centered on teamwork and excellent customer serviceOversee the department's daily operations, including purchasing, inventory management, merchandising and product rotationMaintain attractive, fresh and well-stocked displaysMonitor product quality, freshness, pricing and availabilityDrive department sales and profitabilityControl labor, packaging, inventory, shrink and other departmental expensesPlan staffing and schedules based on business needsEnsure proper ordering and inventory levels while minimizing wasteMaintain compliance with food-safety regulations, sanitation requirements and company proceduresEnsure department policies and operating standards are consistently followedWork collaboratively with the Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager and other department leadersPerform the duties of Produce Department associates as business needs requireComplete special projects and other responsibilities as assignedQualificationsAt least three years of management experience, preferably in grocery, produce or another food-retail environmentPrevious experience as a Department Manager, Assistant Department Manager or equivalentDemonstrated success leading a team of four or more employeesStrong knowledge of produce products, handling practices, merchandising and department operationsExperience managing labor, inventory, purchasing, shrink and department profitabilityAbility to hire, train, develop and hold employees accountableExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong organizational, planning and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to work effectively with associates and leadership throughout the storeAvailability to work a flexible full-time schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays as neededPhysical RequirementsThis is an active, hands-on leadership position.
