A full-time opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher in an elementary self-contained classroom setting. This contract role runs from now through June 17th, with a strong likelihood of renewal, providing stability as well as the chance to grow professionally. The school day typically runs from 8:15 am to 2:50 pm, giving you a predictable schedule.
You'll work closely with a small group of students, providing instruction and support for those with autism, medically fragile conditions, and a range of abilities. Your expertise and dedication will help nurture their growth in a caring and structured environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Licensed or certified Special Education Teacher (or eligibility for certification)
- Experience working with elementary students, particularly in self-contained or specialized settings
- Comfortable supporting students with autism and medically fragile conditions
- Strong collaboration skills to work with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families
- Commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning atmosphere
Responsibilities Include:
- Planning and delivering differentiated instruction tailored to individual student needs
- Developing and implementing IEPs in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
- Managing classroom routines and adapting materials for diverse learners
- Collecting data and tracking student progress towards goals
- Building positive relationships with students, families, and staff
