Step into a rewarding role as a special education professional supporting 5th and 6th graders in a dedicated life skills and intensive needs program. This contract position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a small, focused caseload at the elementary level. Work full time, Monday through Friday, ensuring personalized support for students during the school year, starting as soon as possible through June 2027.

Your responsibilities will center around providing direct instruction, case management, and fostering a supportive classroom environment for a group of just three students this year. Collaborate closely with colleagues, families, and service providers to ensure each child achieves their individual goals, while adapting curriculum and teaching methods for optimal learning.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility) in New Hampshire
  • Experience working with students with intensive needs, preferably at the upper elementary level
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
  • Passion for fostering independence and life skills in young learners

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction tailored to life skills and intensive needs students in grades 5 and 6
  • Serve as case manager for assigned caseload, including IEP development and progress monitoring
  • Collaborate with general and special education staff, related service providers, and families
  • Document progress and participate in team meetings
  • Create a nurturing, inclusive, and supportive classroom community
