Activity Assistant - Oak Knoll Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center

Location: Framingham, Massachusetts

Schedule: Full-Time

We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Activity Assistant to join our team and help make every day meaningful, enjoyable, and engaging for our residents.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Activity Director with planning and implementing recreational, social, educational, and therapeutic activities for our residents

• Lead and support one-on-one, small-group, and large-group resident activities, encouraging participation and engagement

• Assist with holiday celebrations, special events, entertainment, games, arts and crafts, and family-centered programs

• Help prepare activity rooms, materials, equipment, and decorations, ensuring a clean and organized environment

• Escort and assist residents to and from scheduled activities, providing companionship and support

• Provide meaningful interaction to residents who may prefer individual activities, tailoring programs to their interests and needs

• Support residents with memory loss, physical limitations, or other disabilities during programming, ensuring inclusion and accessibility

• Maintain attendance records and assist with activity documentation, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

• Help distribute monthly calendars, newsletters, and daily activity schedules, keeping residents and families informed

• Ensure activity areas and supplies remain clean, organized, and safe, promoting a positive environment

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Previous experience working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or in a healthcare setting is preferred

• Experience in a skilled nursing, rehabilitation, assisted living, or memory care environment is a plus

• Must be compassionate, patient, creative, and enthusiastic, with strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to lead activities and engage residents with different interests and abilities, working independently and as part of a team

• Basic computer skills are preferred

• Must enjoy working with the senior population
