Senior Litigation Associate
Location: Concord, NH (Hybrid Schedule)
Salary: $115K-$130K base
A respected New Hampshire litigation practice is seeking a highly motivated Litigation Associate to join its medical malpractice defense team. This position offers the opportunity to represent physicians, hospitals, healthcare systems, long-term care facilities, and other healthcare professionals in complex professional liability matters throughout New Hampshire.
Responsibilities
- Defend healthcare providers and institutions in medical malpractice and professional liability matters.
- Manage a litigation caseload from inception through resolution.
- Conduct legal research and draft motions, pleadings, briefs, discovery requests, and other litigation-related documents.
- Take and defend depositions, including those of parties, fact witnesses, and expert witnesses.
- Develop case strategy and evaluate liability, causation, and damages issues.
- Participate in court hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and arbitrations.
- Collaborate with medical experts and consultants to prepare defense strategies.
- Prepare witnesses and clients for deposition, mediation, and trial.
- Assist with trial preparation and courtroom advocacy.
- Maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and responsiveness.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the New Hampshire Bar or eligibility for prompt admission.
- 2+ years of litigation experience preferred, with experience in medical malpractice defense strongly desired.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- Strong organizational and case management abilities.
- Ability to analyze complex medical records and expert testimony.
- Experience handling depositions and court appearances is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
