JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Group Leader / Monitor
Job Family: Child Care

Position Summary:
Under the direction of the School Age Director, supervise a designated group of children while in transport from school to the YMCA.

Essential Functions:
· Provide appropriate bus activities in accordance with established Child Care Services regulations.

· Promote and enforce established vehicle rules and procedures to insure passenger safety.

· Act as the Y liaison with school personnel when gathering children at the schools.

· Provide open communication with children, the school and the program, to assure highest standards of care are being met.

· Participate in transportation training and certification annually.

· Participate in maintenance of cleanliness and safety of the vehicles

Qualifications:
• Educational requirements according to EEC regulations.
• Must be at least 18 and able to work from 1:00 pm - 5:00pm M - F
• Current knowledge of state and YMCA standards and regulations specific to early education and childcare.
• Ability to effectively interact with school personnel and children on a range of issues.
- Demonstrated skill in developing and managing a large group of children.
• Demonstrated ability to make mature judgments in difficult situations.
