This remote pharmacist position offers the opportunity to apply specialized knowledge in Medicare Part B drug prior authorizations within a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The role is designed for individuals with strong clinical judgment and familiarity with utilization management, providing essential support to both clinical and operational teams.
Location: Remote (open to candidates licensed in any state)
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 12:00 PM – 8:30 PM EST
- Mandatory weekend and holiday rotations
- Limited days off except emergencies from January 1, 2027, to March 31, 2027
Responsibilities:
- Review Part B drug and biologic prior authorization requests and appeals
- Apply clinical policies, utilization management criteria, and Medicare requirements to authorization decisions
- Support internal teams by addressing questions related to Part B drug policies and workflows
- Identify opportunities to enhance review quality, accuracy, and operational efficiency
- Adapt to evolving workflows and business requirements while maintaining consistency and productivity under changing priorities
Qualifications:
- PharmD degree with active pharmacist licensure in at least one state
- Minimum 2 years of experience in utilization management, managed care residency, or relevant specialty pharmacy
- Proven ability to independently evaluate complex Part B drug requests with sound clinical judgment
- Experience in Part B drug prior authorization and/or appeals review strongly preferred
- Background in Medicare Part B, utilization management, or prior authorization is highly valued
