We specialize in electrical design, control panel fabrication, PLC programming, HMI/SCADA development, motion control, and field service. We're looking for an Industrial Controls Technician to join our team. This position offers a diverse mix of shop and field work, giving you the opportunity to build control panels, install equipment, troubleshoot machines, and work alongside experienced controls engineers on a wide variety of automation projects. Whether you're an experienced controls technician or have a strong electrical background and want to grow your automation skills, we'll provide the training and support to help you succeed.
Responsibilities
- Build, wire, and test industrial control panels according to electrical schematics.
- Mount and wire PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, relays, motor starters, power supplies, safety devices, and other control components.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams.
- Install and commission industrial control systems at customer facilities.
- Troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical and control systems.
- Work alongside controls engineers to diagnose and resolve machine issues.
- Assist with PLC and HMI programming modifications.
- Perform machine wiring, device checkout, and startup support.
- Document work performed and communicate professionally with customers.
- Travel to customer sites throughout New England, with occasional overnight travel.
Qualifications Required
- Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
- Experience working with industrial electrical control systems.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred (Not Required)
- Experience building industrial control panels.
- Experience with PLCs, HMIs, and variable frequency drives.
- Experience with industrial machine installation and startup.
- Experience with AutoCAD Electrical or similar CAD software.
- Associate's degree, technical school, or equivalent experience in Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, or a related field.
