- Conduct thorough dental cleanings and examinations for patients of all ages, including pediatrics.
- Perform thorough documentation review to ensure accurate patient records and treatment plans.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and the importance of regular dental visits.
- Utilize Dentrix systems for patient management and record keeping.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols and infection control standards.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry practices.
- Assist dentists during procedures through chairside assisting, ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort.
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient confidentiality and data security at all times.
- Support the dental team with administrative tasks related to documentation review, medical coding, and appointment scheduling.
Requirements· Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations.
- Proven experience working in dental healthcare settings with proficiency in dental assisting procedures.
- Familiarity with dental software platforms for managing electronic health records (EHR).
- Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles and experience working with pediatric patients.
- Strong understanding of infection prevention management, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection control standards.
- Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures accurately while maintaining patient safety.
- Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about dental care practices.
- Competence in medical imaging, vital signs measurement, and patient assessment techniques.
- Knowledge of medical coding systems relevant to dental procedures for accurate documentation review.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
