A dedicated Special Education Teacher is needed to guide and nurture an elementary caseload in a self-contained classroom environment, serving students with autism, those who are medically fragile, and others requiring specialized support. This full-time contract position offers consistent hours from roughly 8:15 am to 2:50 pm, extending from ASAP through June 17th, with strong likelihood for annual renewal.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification for New Hampshire (or eligible to obtain)
- Experience working with elementary-age students with autism and medically complex needs
- Familiarity with developing and implementing IEPs and behavioral intervention plans
- Ability to create an inclusive, supportive, and structured learning environment
- Collaborative approach with fellow educators, therapists, and families
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate, flexible mindset
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction and support to students in a self-contained classroom
- Adapt curriculum and therapeutic strategies to address unique learning and developmental needs
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to monitor and report on student progress
- Communicate effectively with families, school staff, and external service providers
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with special education standards and protocols
