Your primary focus will be providing compassionate medical care, triage, and health education to an elementary caseload. Acting as both a medical resource and advocate for students, you'll have the opportunity to foster healthier, happier school days.
Essential Qualifications:
- Active RN license in Massachusetts
- Experience as a school nurse or in pediatric nursing preferred
- Strong communication skills with both children and adults
- Familiarity with typical school health office duties (medication administration, first aid, chronic condition management)
- Ability to build positive relationships in an elementary school setting
- Basic computer skills for health documentation and communication
Core Responsibilities:
- Respond promptly to daily student health needs, from minor injuries to medication distribution
- Monitor, document, and communicate changes in students’ health status
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all policies and regulations
- Promote healthy practices within the school community through health education and prevention initiatives
- Collaborate closely with teachers, staff, and families to ensure the well-being of each student
- Manage required health records and prepare reports as needed
