Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher working within a supportive, onsite classroom setting near Williamstown, MA. This full-time contract position offers the opportunity to support students with significant disabilities in Substantially Separate Classrooms—serving one K-1st grade group and one 3rd-5th grade group. You’ll collaborate closely with other educators and behavioral support staff to deliver tailored instruction and compassionate care.
Key Qualifications:
- Certified or eligible for certification in Special Education Teaching
- Experience working with students who have severe cognitive and physical disabilities, including non-verbal individuals and those on the autism spectrum
- Familiarity with providing toileting and personal care support
- Preferred experience in specially designed instruction and/or applied behavior analysis (ABA)
- Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team, including Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs)
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment
Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) in both K-1 and 3rd-5th grade Substantially Separate Classrooms
- Provide differentiated instruction and behavioral supports based on student needs
- Partner with paraprofessionals, therapists, and other support staff to promote student engagement and progress
- Support students’ personal care and daily living needs, including toileting, as required
- Maintain accurate documentation and actively participate in team meetings and parent communications
