First or Second Shift Available
Job Position Summary: You are responsible for operating burring equipment to debur parts externally and internally to specification set by the customer.
You must have:
- A high School Diploma or Equivalent. Tech School preferred.
- 5+ yrs Experience of burring experience
- Experience in the Aerospace industry is Perferred.
- Knowledge of various metals, alloys, and other materials to optimize proper speeds and feeds.
- Strong Attention to details
- Basic computer skills
- The ability to read and understand cutting and deburring instructions from work orders, or prints.
- The ability to use 10,000 RPM air gun, cutoff wheels, and abrasive deburring equipment such as hand head motorized grinders, belt sanders, wire brushes, scrapers, files and other related tools.
- The ability to use inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, indicators.
- The ability to form full radius on parts to conform to blueprints.
- The ability to work to fine finishes using borescopes with up to 7-30 power magnification.
- The ability to do both external and internal deburring of parts.
- The ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally.
- The ability to be able to work independently with minimum supervision.
- The ability to work overtime, including weekend
In your role, you will:
- Follow Safety culture and wear PPE when required.
- Operate Burring Equipment.
- Debur external and internal components.
- Remove all loose burrs using assorted abrasive tooling.
- Follow Ops sheets, and verbal instructions to specification.
- Operate within AS9100/ISO9001 requirements to include proper documentation.
- Verify and visually inspected your work and dimensions per operations sheet to specification.
- Fill out production paperwork and inspection procedures as required.
- Work to fine finishes using scopes with up to 30 power magnification.
- Form full radius on parts to conform to blueprints.
- Blend finishes meeting customer specifications.
Working Conditions:
- Normal Production environments, subject to high noise levels from operating machines; physical hazards from moving equipment and sharp machine parts; breathing fumes, dust, and mist; skin exposure to oil and cutting fluid; exposure to sharp metal edges, and forklifts.
- May be asked to travel back and forth between Southwick and Westfield facilities.
Physical Requirements:
- Must have ability to read applicable customer documents with or without corrective lenses.
- May have to lift up to thirty (30) pounds at a time, as required.
- Must be able to push, pull, reach overhead, stand, walk, climb stairs, bend and/or sit for long periods of time.
First Shift: 7:00am - 4:30pm Monday - Friday
Second Shift: 4:30pm - 2:00am Monday - Friday
25% Shift Differential
