You’ll work full time in a self-contained classroom, providing specialized instruction to students with autism and those who are medically fragile.
Your day will begin around 8:15 am and end at 2:50 pm, aligning with a dependable school-based schedule. Collaborate with dedicated colleagues, utilize evidence-based interventions, and foster a nurturing environment where every student can thrive.
Qualifications & Experience Sought:
- Valid certification to teach Special Education at the elementary level
- Experience supporting students with autism and/or medically complex needs preferred
- Ability to implement individualized education plans and differentiated instruction
- Strong communication and advocacy skills
- Patience, flexibility, and a passion for creating inclusive learning experiences
Responsibilities:
- Deliver personalized instruction in a self-contained setting to meet a variety of student needs
- Assess, monitor, and document student progress toward IEP goals
- Collaborate effectively with paraprofessionals, therapists, and families
- Provide a safe, engaging, and accommodating classroom environment
- Participate in ongoing professional development and school meetings
