Responsibilities
- Perform decontamination of surgical instruments and reusable medical equipment according to established protocols.
- Inspect, assemble, package, and sterilize surgical instrument trays.
- Operate sterilization equipment and monitor sterilization cycles.
- Perform quality assurance checks to ensure instruments meet sterilization standards.
- Maintain accurate sterilization records and documentation.
- Identify damaged or malfunctioning instruments and remove them from service.
- Ensure proper storage and distribution of sterile supplies.
- Follow infection prevention, OSHA, AAMI, and hospital safety standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Collaborate with operating room staff and other clinical departments to ensure timely instrument availability.
