$12,000 Sign on Bonus for New Employees * restrictions apply
$3,000 at 30 days, $3,000 at 6 months and $6,000 after one year

General Statement of Duties:
As a lead member of the multi-disciplinary team, the Assistant Nurse Director will work closely with the Nursing Director to provide nursing oversite and supervision to several assigned residential programs. The Assistant Nurse Director will supervise assigned nurses and will work collaboratively in a leadership role with members of the nursing and operation team to coordinate the health care needs of persons served. 
Responsibilities:
Nursing Staff Management: 
<ul>
<li>Provide clinical support to nurses and non-clinical staff in assigned programs. </li>
<li>Supervise Nurse Manager I and Nurse Manager II in service area. </li>
<li>Assist with interviewing and hiring residential nursing staff. </li>
<li>Support staff with appointments and advocate for person served as needed</li>
</ul>
Quality Compliance:
<ul>
<li>Review medical records and physician orders to ensure program compliance, updating information as needed. </li>
<li>Participate in program audits and other quality improvement initiatives. </li>
<li>Follow the Department of Public Health’s (DPH) Medication Administration Program (MAP) policies.</li>
<li>Review health care treatments and protocols for accuracy, ensuring compliance with funder regulations and ease of use and understanding for program staff. </li>
<li>Execute duties to reflect reasonable safety and infection control standards. Universal/standard precautions must be utilized and training obtained in areas that constitute risk.</li>
</ul>
Training:
<ul>
<li>On a rotating basis, provide division wide health care trainings, such as vital signs, infection control, nursing assessments etc</li>
<li>On a rotating basis, provide agency wide electronic health care record trainings.</li>
<li>Reviews person-centered training. Provide assistance in training staff on protocols, diagnoses, etc. </li>
</ul>
Other:
<ul>
<li>Ensure Positive Behavior Supports (PBS), BAMSI’s framework for delivering clinical services, are implemented by offering choices and preferred routines, meeting needs, supporting individual’s goals, modeling pro-social behaviors, and maintaining professional boundaries. </li>
<li>Maintain ongoing professional communication, verbally and in writing, with all members of persons served team.</li>
<li>Work with cluster leadership to facilitate cluster meetings and provide on-going program-specific medical training on diagnosis, protocols, safe care, and other heath related topics. </li>
<li>Assumes role of nurse manager during vacancy. </li>
<li>Provide coverage at day habilitation programs or other residential programs as needed.</li>
<li>Provide 24-hour on-call, on a rotating basis, to ensure nursing coverage and optimal service delivery.</li>
<li>Rotate schedule to work holidays/weekends as needed.</li>
<li>Perform all duties in compliance with BAMSI policies and applicable laws.</li>
<li>Perform other related duties as needed or as assigned by supervisor or designee</li>
</ul>
 
EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:
<ul>
<li>Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts</li>
<li>CPR certification required.</li>
<li>Must possess a valid driver's license in state of residence and satisfactory driving record</li>
</ul>
EXPERIENCE:
<ul>
<li>3 years of nursing experience preferred, with prior supervisory experience preferred.</li>
</ul>
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
<ul>
<li>Basic computer literacy, including the ability to record data, use electronic time and attendance software, receive, and send email, is required.</li>
<li>Ability to lift, transfer, push/pull, maneuver, and reposition 25 pounds.</li>
<li>Ability to reach, bend, stand, sit and walk; perform fine motor activities.</li>
<li>Work effectively in a moderate to occasionally loud work environment.</li>
<li>Excellent interpersonal, communications and organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to provide high-quality customer service to internal and external service providers. </li>
<li>Knowledge of the theories, methods, procedures, and practices of nursing care</li>
</ul>
