Position overview
To ensure safety, quality, and conformance to specifications of all products produced by Raw Seafoods.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Maintain Quality Control documents and records on an ongoing basis</li>
<li>Inspect all incoming products for quality, safety, and adherence to specifications</li>
<li>Conduct organoleptic testing on finished and incoming products/ingredients</li>
<li>Organize and administer product cuttings in the absence of the Sr. Tech</li>
<li>Monitor the production floor for food safety and employee safety</li>
<li>Perform Quality Control checks and related paperwork in all departments</li>
<li>Allergen testing, including testing according to annual, monthly, and weekly swab schedules</li>
<li>Accompany USDA inspector throughout plant and assist with all questions or problems that arise, when necessary</li>
<li>Maintain testing equipment, and conduct calibrations as needed</li>
<li>Check finished product labels to ensure conformance with product specifications and government requirements</li>
<li>Compare finished product to specification sheet to ensure it meets customer's requirements</li>
<li>Ensure all products meet and exceed standards required by USDA, USDC, FDA, and BRC</li>
<li>Immediately identify and notify Sr. Technologist or Supervisor of situations where product does not meet specifications</li>
<li>Complete inbound and outbound paperwork associated with incoming and outgoing product</li>
<li>Conduct inspections of all manufacturing equipment prior to use</li>
<li>Complete metal detector calibrations and corrective actions on a regular basis</li>

<li>Oversee that all procedures are followed in accordance to USDA, USDC, FDA, and BRC requirements</li>

Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities):

<li>Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Culinary Arts, Nutrition, Biological Sciences or related discipline. Or a combination of work experience and education which proves proficiency in the field</li>
<li>Or 3+ Years Previous experience in Quality or Continuous Improvement</li>
<li>Experience and understanding of food ingredients, nutritional labels, allergens, and governmental regulations set forth by the USDC, USDA, and FDA preferred</li>

Essential Functions:
