RESPONSIBILITIES
The Certified Personal Trainer will be responsible for providing one-on-one and couples personalized fitness instruction in person to clients at their home, apartment gym or outside while encouraging them to reach their fitness goals. Responsibilities are as follows:

Join the Y as an Adaptive Swim Instructor, where you'll help individuals of all ages and abilities gain confidence in the water! This role focuses on creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive swim experience for participants with physical, cognitive, sensory, and behavioral differences. This role requires specialized teaching techniques, adaptive strategies, and a deep understanding of how to create a positive and supportive experience for every participant.

What You'll Do:
<ul>
<li>Teach &amp; Adapt: Lead swim lessons tailored to individual needs, using specialized techniques.</li>
<li>Ensure Safety: Monitor swimmers, enforce pool rules, and respond effectively to emergencies.</li>
<li>Communicate: Keep participants and guardians informed about lesson objectives and progress.</li>
<li>Assist in the Water: Help participants enter, exit, and navigate the pool safely.</li>
<li>Plan &amp; Evaluate: Develop lesson plans, take attendance, and provide feedback to families.</li>
<li>Teamwork: Work cooperatively with staff and model YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.</li>

Requirements:
What We're Looking For:
<ul>
<li>Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age. </li>
<li>Ability to obtain or currently hold certification for CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED and First Aid. </li>
<li>At least one year of experience working with children and/or adults.</li>
<li>Demonstrate a strong sense of patience and empathy. </li>
<li>Ability to communicate effectively and clearly. </li>
<li>Must have a firm grasp on the basics of swimming. </li>

<li>Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds as needed for rescues or equipment handling.</li>
<li>Have vision abilities that include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision, with the ability to adjust focus.</li>
