Position Summary
Solid Biosciences is seeking an experienced scientist to join our Downstream Process Development (DSPD) team. The DSPD team is responsible for the development, optimization, and technology transfer of the downstream purification processes of Solid’s gene therapy portfolio. The candidate will be a key collaborator in the company’s cross-functional deliverables, working with other groups such as Manufacturing Sciences &amp; Technology for scale-up and tech transfer, Analytical Development in pursuit of industry-leading AAV product quality, Research &amp; Development for designing next-generation purification schemes for novel delivery methods, and Upstream Process Development in the classic two-way collaboration between Process Development’s cell culture and purification sciences teams.
This role will focus on novel research and engineering efforts to invent and/or develop cutting-edge AAV purification technologies with a focus on scalable methods to enrich for high-potent AAV. As Solid continues to advance in the gene therapy space, this task will evolve to additional complex separations (e.g. removal of partially-filled capsids, separation of PTM variants such as deamidated species, and so on). The ability to continuously formulate new DSPD research topics and execute on them experimentally in continued pursuit of industry-leading AAV product quality and manufacturing cost of goods is key.
While this position will focus primarily on novel separations development, there will be ample need for the classical array of DSPD tasks. As such, laboratory mastery of DSPD fixtures such as programming ÄKTA FPLC methods, building and operating TFF skids, statistically-driven Design of Experiments, and sound scale-up principles is a must.
Key Duties &amp; Accountabilities

A.I.S., Inc. (AIS) is a national scientific services firm supporting maritime activities requiring certification of compliance with environmental regulations as well as collecting data for use by Federal, State, Municipal, and other government agencies along the US coastline.
AIS is looking for a Sr. Sea Turtle Research Ecologist to lead preparation for field work and coordinate data collection for the Sea Turtle Ecology research program. This position is part of a contract opportunity we are currently bidding on.
 
Primary Function:
NOAA fisheries evaluate the status of sea turtle populations within the Greater Atlantic Region of the Northwest Atlantic Ocean. This program assesses the current and anticipated population dynamics of these species, as well as their ecology, distribution, occurrence, health, and habitat usage. 
 
Duties/Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Lead preparation for field work and de-staging</li>
<li>Coordinate data collection for land-based or at-sea field research programs</li>
<li>Take photos of species that are able to positively identify sea turtles and other marine species</li>
<li>Interacting with live turtles or turtle carcasses. Lead necropsies and ensure proper high quality data collection.</li>
<li>Record/edit data collected at sea and maintain databases and equipment</li>
<li>Pursue, handle, collect physical measurements (i.e. carapace lengths and width), collect samples, and apply tags to live turtles. Be able to collect physical measurements, tag, and necropsy dead turtles. This includes collecting the following counts/surveys: epibiota removal, laparoscopy, cloacal lavage, cloacal, gastric lavage, measure, monitor vitals, photograph/video, blood, fecal material, scutes, skin, ultrasound, and weight</li>
<li>Lead in small boat operations deployed from land or sea</li>
<li>Contribute to the completion of project reports, including taking the lead responsibility.</li>
<li>Provide database management services such as maintaining complex relational Oracle database, including entering new data.</li>
</ul>
 
Compensation: Candidates will be paid an hourly rate to be negotiated, and total compensation will vary depending on the candidates depth of experience. This is a fulltime position. AIS benefits package includes health and dental insurance, vacation, sick and holiday benefits.
Minimum Qualifications:

Essential Functions

The Biologics Discovery Sciences Group at AbbVie is seeking an accomplished scientist to contribute significantly to the conception, execution, and communication of antibody discovery strategies in a highly collaborative environment. The successful candidate will develop and execute research strategies to advance the discovery and development of therapeutic antibodies for AbbVie’s core therapeutic areas. Key responsibilities include designing and executing in vitro display technologies for lead antibody identification and optimization. The candidate is also expected to generate internal and external collaborations to further program goals and drive antibody discovery programs within a multidisciplinary research group in a dynamic, fast-paced team setting.
Key Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Implement novel selection strategies and build industry-leading libraries for discovery and screening of therapeutic candidates</li>
<li>Design, strategize, and execute on engineering requests to further develop, optimize, and progress candidates through the pipeline</li>
<li>Identify and solve technical problems; independently, conceive and implement innovative research ideas</li>
<li>Leverage expertise to develop and implement research to gain a detailed mechanistic understanding of the molecular pharmacology of therapeutic molecules</li>
<li>Provide project updates, analyses and advice to cross-functional teams and senior management</li>
<li>Present original work internally across departments and at internal and external scientific conferences; may author or co-author peer-reviewed scientific papers or patents</li>
<li>Ensure consistency and quality of technical reports</li>
<li>Ability to engage internal and external scientific leaders in collaborative research</li>
<li>Serve as a biologics lead for cross-functional teams, and contribute scientific insights into multiple projects across various therapeutic areas; recognized and sought out as an expert in discovery and engineering of therapeutic molecules</li>
</ul>
Qualifications 
<ul>
<li>PhD, MS, or BS degree in Biochemistry, Biochemical engineering or related disciplines with typically 0+ (PhD), 8+ (MS), or 10+ (BS) years of experience</li>
<li>Hands-on experience with in vitro antibody discovery display technologies (e.g., phage, yeast, mammalian)</li>
<li>Experience and up-to-date knowledge in antibody engineering and optimization best practices</li>
<li>Antibody/antibody fragment library design and construction</li>
<li>Strong molecular biology skills</li>
<li>Familiarity with sequence analysis tools (Geneious, PipeBio)</li>
<li>Experience with flow cytometry</li>
<li>Ability to explore and develop new approaches to further advance innovative in vitro discovery, screening, and engineering technologies</li>
<li>Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously</li>
<li>Team player with the ability to operate in a fast-paced multi-disciplinary environment with functional and therapeutic areas</li>
<li>Adapt to rapid changes in project priorities and timelines</li>
<li>Recognized in the scientific community through a record of peer-reviewed publications and patents preferred</li>
<li>Highly developed leadership and communication skills</li>
<li>Keen ability to engage internal and external scientific leaders in collaborative research</li>
