About This Role:
Biogen is seeking a scientific leader with a proven track record in team management, drug discovery, and development spanning a range of small and large molecule modalities, with a preference for small molecule drug discovery experience. The role requires defining and executing an iterative research strategy, identifying promising targets and therapeutic modalities, and developing novel hypotheses and experimental approaches to understand the molecular mechanisms underlying autoimmune indications. Staying abreast of the latest scientific advancements and aptitude to translate knowledge into potential therapeutic concepts is critical. Additionally, the role involves recruiting, developing, and mentoring a high-performing team of scientists, fostering a collaborative and innovative research environment, and overseeing project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation. As a Senior Research Associate you will help our Product Development team plan and execute microbiological and biochemical assays on products and product prototypes. This role will focus on development, implementation, and data collection from assays that will lead to understanding the performance of the product. On a regular day, you will support validation of product efficacy through experimental design and set-up. You will implement mode of action protocols, collect assay data, and present results. You will identify the presence or absence of microbes, quantify microbial activity, use and maintain laboratory equipment, and work closely with the broader team in a collaborative effort to meet project goals and timelines.
This role will work closely with biofertilizers and ag biologicals, particularly those designed to enhance crop productivity and sustainable agriculture. Experience with soil microorganisms, plant-microbe interactions, agricultural microbiology, or biologically based ag products is highly desirable.

<li>Proficiency in lab record keeping including good note taking practices – experience with electronic lab notebooks like SciNote is ideal.</li>
