The Bioinformatics for Immunology, Genetics, and Genomic Sciences group in the Genomics Research Center (GRC) at AbbVie is seeking a highly motivated and experienced AI/ML leader to transform our drug discovery and development through cutting-edge method and technology innovation. AbbVie’s GRC is a center of excellence for bioinformatics, functional genomics, human genetics, and pharmacogenomics. The GRC collaborates across R&amp;D, supporting both discovery research and clinical development, while integrating with process sciences, search and evaluation initiatives, and corporate strategic planning.
This position will be based in Cambridge, Massachusetts (hybrid). Position Summary
Solid Biosciences is seeking an experienced scientist to join our Downstream Process Development (DSPD) team. The DSPD team is responsible for the development, optimization, and technology transfer of the downstream purification processes of Solid’s gene therapy portfolio. The candidate will be a key collaborator in the company’s cross-functional deliverables, working with other groups such as Manufacturing Sciences &amp; Technology for scale-up and tech transfer, Analytical Development in pursuit of industry-leading AAV product quality, Research &amp; Development for designing next-generation purification schemes for novel delivery methods, and Upstream Process Development in the classic two-way collaboration between Process Development’s cell culture and purification sciences teams.
This role will focus on novel research and engineering efforts to invent and/or develop cutting-edge AAV purification technologies with a focus on scalable methods to enrich for high-potent AAV. As Solid continues to advance in the gene therapy space, this task will evolve to additional complex separations (e.g. removal of partially-filled capsids, separation of PTM variants such as deamidated species, and so on). The ability to continuously formulate new DSPD research topics and execute on them experimentally in continued pursuit of industry-leading AAV product quality and manufacturing cost of goods is key.
While this position will focus primarily on novel separations development, there will be ample need for the classical array of DSPD tasks. As such, laboratory mastery of DSPD fixtures such as programming ÄKTA FPLC methods, building and operating TFF skids, statistically-driven Design of Experiments, and sound scale-up principles is a must.
Key Duties &amp; Accountabilities

A.I.S., Inc. (AIS) is a national scientific services firm supporting maritime activities requiring certification of compliance with environmental regulations as well as collecting data for use by Federal, State, Municipal, and other government agencies along the US coastline.
AIS is looking for a Jr. Sea Turtle Research Ecologist to participate in data collection for the Sea Turtle Ecology research program. This position is part of a contract opportunity we are currently bidding on.
 
Primary Function:
NOAA fisheries evaluate the status of sea turtle populations within the Greater Atlantic Region of the Northwest Atlantic Ocean. This program assesses the current and anticipated population dynamics of these species, as well as their ecology, distribution, occurrence, health, and habitat usage. 
 
Duties/Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Preparation for field work and de-staging</li>
<li>Participate in data collection for land-based or at-sea field research programs</li>
<li>Take photos of species that are able to positively identify sea turtles and other marine species</li>
<li>Interacting with live turtles or turtle carcasses</li>
<li>Record/edit data collected at sea and maintain databases and equipment</li>
<li>Pursue, handle, collect physical measurements (i.e. carapace lengths and width), collect samples, and apply tags to live turtles. Be able to collect physical measurements, tag, and necropsy dead turtles. This includes collecting the following counts/surveys: epibiota removal, laparoscopy, cloacal, gastric lavage, measure, monitor vitals, photograph/video, blood, fecal material, scutes, skin, ultrasound, and weight</li>
<li>Participate in small boat operations deployed from land or sea</li>
<li>Complete project reports</li>
