A bus monitor is a person who, generally under the direction of a bus driver, rides in a van or bus over designated routes transporting school pupils or clients to and from school or other designated locations. In addition, a bus monitor may ride a bus or van to assist and monitor clients on private charter trips. Bus monitors may work with loud and disruptive clients. Monitors may also work with special needs individuals.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Monitor pupils and daily school bus activities to ensure proper conduct at all times, and adherence to proper and safe behavior standards on the bus
· Maintain attendance and ridership records and assign seating, as necessary, to ensure good student behavior
· Observe and learn established bus routes so when substitute drivers are operating the bus directional and routing assistance can be given
· As requested by the Operations Manager or Dispatcher, verify route turn for turn sheets and note any route changes with written notes
· As requested by the Operations Manager or Dispatcher, make additional directional or landmark notations on bus route sheets to assist future new or substitute bus drivers
· As requested by the Operations Manager or Dispatcher, observe and track route timing, such as total time en route; time between stops, loading and unloading times or any other requested information for the purpose of establishing route efficiency
· Ensure safe loading and unloading of students on and off the bus
· As required, verify student use of seatbelts and assist with securing or removing belts.

Tobin School Westwood is seeking a warm, nurturing early childhood Teacher&nbsp;to join our Pre Kindergarten classroom teaching team beginning in September. This will be a new classroom with a capacity of up to 20 children a day. This is a 40 hour per week position with 8 hour shifts between 7:15&nbsp;am and 5:45&nbsp;pm. Job Description Summary The Boys Girls Clubs of Central and Northern New Hampshire is a dynamic organization that currently supports 200 staff working in 30 Early Childhood and Out of School Time programs with a large geographic footprint.Are you motivated to make a difference in the lives of children? The Associate Teacher position is responsible for upholding and implementing the BGCCNNH mission, supporting children and teachers, and ensuring the health and safety of the children. Some key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: actively engaging with children, assisting with cleaning and organizing the classroom, and documenting child observations. Must present interest in and willingness to learn child development and health and safety practices. Duties Prepare Youth for Success •Creates an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes. • Responds sensitively to the interests, requests, and needs of individual children, interacts positively with children, encourages exploration, and uses positive child guidance strategies. • Provide guidance and role modeling to Club members by planning and outlining curriculum to meet the individual needs of youth by incorporating elements of an emergent curriculum. • Establishes and maintains program goals to ensure the health and safety of all members. • May ensure the evaluation of Club programs continually, including tracking outcome metrics; verify that programs/activities respond to member needs and address their gender andcultural diversity. • Uses child observation notes as a tool for curriculum planning, keeps accurate and up-to-date • Continuously accounts for the members in their assigned group by name and face. • Oversees implementation of NAEYC standards and GSQ (when applicable), Culture DNA code, as well as BGCCNNH and CCLU rules and policies regarding safety, compliance, and best practices. • Dispenses medications according to company policy, administers first aid as needed; communicates all occurrences to families. • Oversees and assists in cleaning, organizing, and maintaining classroom well-being and upkeep. Program Development, Implementation, and Supervision • Oversees proper record-keeping and weekly reporting, including activities and events conducted in themembership/finance system. Will provide data for input to a Center Director or other applicable staff. • Facilitates open and effective, professional verbal and written communication with families, staff, and children. • Supervises classroom staff, students, and volunteers; provides regular feedback about job performance. • Supports volunteers, practicum students, and staff through modeling techniques and strategies that connect theory to practice. • May lead planning meetings with the teaching team. • May increase the visibility of Club programs via daily schedule postings, announcements of upcoming events through different social media channels, family emails, etc. • Other duties as assigned. Requirements •Must be an associate teacher qualified before November 6, 2017, have a minimum of 9 credits in related coursework or have a minimum of 1000 hours of supervised child care experience in a licensed child care program, and knowledge of child growth and development obtained through one of the following: a. Completion of a high school level 2-year career and technical education course in teacher education; b. A 3-credit college course in child or human growth and development; c. Thirty hours of training in child growth and development, granted by an accredited college or university, an authorized provider of the International Association for Continuing Education and Training, or obtained through documented life experience, including experience with the same age children, the associate teacher supervises, such as a family child care provider, service as a foster parent, work as a school teacher, work as a camp counselor and experience as a group leader for children in sports or other activities, such as scouts or little league, or closely related experience. 
•Must be 18 years of age or older. •Knowledge of current methods, principles, and techniques of teaching. •Knowledge of curriculum development and application. •Ability to plan and implement quality programs; proven track record of creative and artistic teaching strategies. •Ability to form developmentally appropriate relationships with children and promote positive behavior. •Ability to motivate members and manage behavior problems with patience. •Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment. •Ability to communicate with staff, families, and community members in a variety of methods. •Must be willing to maintain the Club dress code appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities. •Must be willing to adapt to different learning styles. •Must obtain CPR and First Aid Certifications per Bureau of Childcare licensing requirements. •May be required to drive the Club van/short bus periodically. •Must possess a safe driving record and submit a copy of such record to either the Operations Director or human resources department. •Required to assist in cleaning and organizing the Club. •Must maintain confidentiality. •Must be willing to travel between locations when requested. (Only occasional travel is required) ADDITIONAL EXPECTATIONS: •All of the candidates who are offered a job with the Boys Girls Clubs of Central and Northern New Hampshire will have to submit for an FBI fingerprint background check and submit to a background check through the State of NH Criminal Records Dept. and First Advantage. Note: The State of NH Childcare Licensing Bureau may prohibit you from being employed by the Boys Girls Clubs of Central and Northern New Hampshire should there be a disqualifying finding on your criminal record.
