Haigh-Farr’s two building facility has an immediate opening for a Custodian. The facility is approximately 89,000 square feet and includes production and testing areas, as well as office space. We are looking for a responsible individual to maintain our facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for general cleaning and upkeep of the building and must have a keen eye for detail and a diligent work ethic.
Requirements:
Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Ensuring spaces are prepared for the next day by taking out trash (daily trash removal from common areas, weekly trash removal from office areas), tidying furniture, and dusting surfaces</li>
<li>Cleaning to ensure facility (interior and exterior) is kept in excellent condition</li>
<li>Washing and sanitizing toilets, sinks and showers and restocking disposables</li>
<li>Sweep and mop floors and vacuum carpets</li>
<li>Wipe mirrors and windows</li>
<li>Occasional assistance with shipping, as needed</li>
<li>Support building maintenance responsibilities, as needed</li>
<li>Manage and respond to multiple requests in a timely manner</li>
</ul>
Knowledge &amp; Skills:
<ul>
<li>Proven experience as a custodian, janitor or similar role</li>
<li>Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components</li>
<li>Ability to maintain a positive attitude when responding to multiple requests</li>
<li>Ability to prioritize workload</li>
<li>Must have ability to climb ladders and lift up to 60lbs</li>
<li>Can-do attitude with ability to jump in and help out where needed</li>

Qualifications:

<li>Minimum High School Diploma or GED</li>
<li>U.S. citizenship required, with ability to possess a security clearance</li>

Pays $22.00 per hour DOE
 
This position carries a retention payment of $3,000.00, $1,000.00 payable at 12 months, and $2,000.00 at 24 months

SUMMARY OF THE POSITION:
 
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, including plumbing, electrical background including painting and basic carpentry. Be able to assist in Special events setups, preventive maintenance programs, the ability to troubleshoot H.V.A.C systems, food service equipment and seasonal snow removal equipment etc. Must be able to complete work assignments, via electronic devices. Effectively communicate with members of the maintenance team and Administrator of Building Maintenance on daily basis. This is an essential full-time position and required to be able to participate in the Main Campus On call rotation schedule and respond to emergency call within a twenty-mile radius. Maintain positive working relationships with staff and the facilities department team.

EDUCATION/TRAINING:
REQUIRED:

<li>2 Year facilities or property maintenance experience </li>
<li>Ability to read printed labels and instructions</li>
<li>Operate equipment and company vehicle if needed for material pick up or snow removal</li>
<li>Ability to pass a CORI clearance</li>
<li>Emergency on call / Holiday onsite rotation coverage for PSI Main Campus Events</li>
</ul>
PREFERRED: 
<ul>
<li>Must have a valid driver’s license in good standing</li>
<li>Bilingual English/Spanish</li>
<li>Hoisting License</li>
<li>Electrical Certification </li>
<li>Plumbing Certification</li>

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:

<li>Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience</li>
