Position Summary
The Forensic Chemist II supports the 908 Devices' portfolio of field-portable chemical detection and identification devices. The position remotely supports the efforts of law enforcement, emergency responders, and R&amp;D partners through spectral review of analytical data from fielded users on high pressure mass spectrometers, FTIR, and Raman devices. About the Role
Our Statistics team provide statistical and analytical expertise across Costello Medical, devising statistical analysis plans and performing data analysis within R, Excel, Stan, SQL and BUGS software. They are also responsible for communicating the methodologies and results in both written and oral formats to drug and device manufacturers, and doctors. The statistical analyses vary across patient-level clinical trial data, observational study (real-world) data, and published aggregate data. Our work involves a range of techniques such as basic statistical analysis of individual patient data, regression analysis, survival analysis and complex Bayesian network meta-analysis using both standard and emerging methods.
The Senior Statistician will lead statistics projects, working very closely with the Consultant or Team Lead as well as colleagues from all specialities, to ensure that statistics projects are delivered to an exceptionally high standard, on time and in line with client expectations. This involves providing strategic advice to clients at project initiation, supervising the project team and regular interaction with external stakeholders by teleconference, email and in person. The Senior Statistician will also be central to the quality control of the project, involving the review of colleagues' work and the provision of constructive feedback.
Our team typically work on several projects at one time and the results of each analysis can feed into publications, value materials, health economic models or health technology assessment submissions. You will also play a key role in contributing to business development by developing and maintaining excellent client relationships and identifying opportunities to provide additional services to clients within projects. There may also be opportunities to line manage and mentor our Statistician Interns.

Senior Statisticians are supported to progress to the Consultant Statistician role. Consultant Statisticians manage a range of projects and have full responsibility for client communication on projects, as well as leading budgeting plans and business development efforts. In addition to technical project delivery, Consultant Statisticians line manage team members and have internal responsibilities spanning areas such as recruitment and training.

In addition, essential requirements for the role are:

<li>A degree level or higher qualification in a scientific or mathematical discipline (minimum GPA 3.3) is required. A focus on statistics and data analysis is essential</li>
<li> The technical and mathematical ability, coupled with exceptional written and oral communication skills, to explain complex techniques and results to non-experts, and to teach and mentor others in the Statistics team</li>
<li>An excellent understanding of and extensive experience in the R programming language, and the willingness and ability to rapidly develop your programming skills</li>

<li>Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in technical and written work, along with the ability to maintain exceptional customer service and the quality of deliverables under multiple competing demands</li>

Responsibilities will include:

What You Will Do: The Senior Embryologist will be responsible for performing all procedures in the IVF Laboratory under the direction of the IVF Laboratory Supervisor. The Senior Embryologist must demonstrate knowledge and skills related to the various procedures performed in the IVF Laboratory. The Senior Embryologist reports directly to the IVF Lab Supervisor.
<ul>
<li>Perform daily, weekly, and periodic function checks and maintenance on equipment and trouble shoot equipment problems and make appropriate decisions for repair, with guidance.</li>
<li>Follow appropriate blood borne pathogen handling and disposal procedures.</li>
<li>Perform all aspects of media/medium preparation with sterile technique for each case and documents the lots used.</li>
<li>Process semen for IVF procedures according to IVF lab protocol.</li>
<li>Assist physician during egg retrievals and is able to locate and assess all oocytes retrieved in a timely manner. Able to trim oocytes without trauma or injury to the oocytes.</li>
<li>Adhere to the IVF lab’s double signature and check system when performing procedures to ensure correct identity of eggs, sperm, and embryos.</li>
<li>Document all patients’ results into the IVF Lab information system (LIS).</li>
<li>Perform daily fertilization checks which includes “cleaning” embryos with minimal trauma (insemination cases) to observe fertilization.</li>
<li>Assess fertilization by observation of pronuclei and polar bodies.</li>
<li>Perform freezing and thawing of human embryos according to IVF lab protocol with a high survival rate.</li>
<li>Perform oocyte inseminations according to IVF lab protocol.</li>
<li>Able to hyal and strip oocytes for ICSI with minimal trauma.</li>
<li>Perform Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) according to IVF lab procedures resulting in high fertilization rates.</li>
<li>Assist physician with embryo transfer and ensures proper identification of the patient with a “time-out” before the transfer.</li>
<li>Assist physician during PESA, MESA and TESE procedures by locating and processing sperm found according to IVF lab procedures.</li>

<li>Perform biopsy procedures, including trophectoderm biopsy, resulting in high number of embryos returning a test result. Embryos biopsied result in a high survival rate when thawed and an acceptable implantation rate when transferred.</li>
